Research

I work on the investigation of rim sealing and rotor-stator cavity purge flows in high pressure gas turbines. The overall aim of the work is to achieve an improved understanding of the governing flow physics towards the reliable and robust modelling of rim sealing. This is enabled through experiments with flexibility of testing and a high density of instrumentation at as close as possible to engine representative dimensionless conditions.
