The students will be given a specialized short course on communication skills, including presentations, report writing, and literature searches. They will also have to attend a series of seminars from industrial visitors, thus receiving exposure to real-life applications. They will also have the general opportunities available to Cambridge post-graduate students.
In 2017 the course was accredited by the Energy Institute on behalf of the Engineering Council as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Candidates must hold a CEng accredited BEng/BSc (Hons) undergraduate first degree to comply with full CEng registration requirements.
