Energy Masters Courses at Department of Engineering

After graduating from the Nuclear Energy MPhil, Georgina Newman has been working for the civil service since 2020. In these two years she has worked at different government and industry sites in Derby, Bristol, Scotland and next she will be in London.

"The MPhil allowed me to follow my current career path, I have found that I call on my knowledge gained in the course almost daily. The core modules gave a fantastic and detailed education into civil nuclear ranging from nuclear physics to nuclear policy. I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of modules on that you could choose, in addition to the core modules, from the Control theory to Medical Physics. This choice enabled me to develop my education in areas that I had touched upon during my undergraduate degree inspiring my interest further into areas that nuclear can be used.  I hope to use my degree and job to further contribute to the Nuclear Community."
