Energy Masters Courses at Department of Engineering

2018-19 Course Scholar - Alexander Platten

Alexander studied Civil Engineering at the University of Liverpool, after which he worked for a civil engineering consultancy, with a heavy concentration on flood risk.  His key professional interest is in sustainability, which leads to his interest in nuclear energy.  "I believe it offers the best chance at meeting our climate change commitments while also keeping up with the needs of the industry", said Alexander.

"I chose the Nuclear Energy MPhil course as it offers a wide range of elective choices to allow me to fit the course around my interests, while also offering some exciting hands-on prospects including trips to Sizewell B, the nuclear Research Centre in Romania and a visit to the Nuclear Medicine Department at Addenbrooke's Hospital".
