Toni Kunchev has been awarded the JD Lewins Prize for the highest marks gained in the examinations. Toni was a Nuclear Energy MPhil Student on the course in 2017/18 and is now a PhD student with the CDT under Dr Eugene Shwageraus.

Toni's PhD research focuses on the exploration of available computational methods to model complex heterogeneous reactor designs. As an active member of the Nuclear Energy Group at the University, Toni is also a Committee member on the PHYSOR 2020 Conference which is coming to Cambridge in the Spring of 2020.

Toni is extremely grateful to Dr Jeffrey Lewins for this award and recognition. "I am honoured to be the recipient of the award and thankful that benefactors such as JD Lewins exist to help us find the best in ourselves and inspire us to work hard towards becoming a positive influence in the world. I will endeavour to deserve the recognition I have received in my current and future work."
